The Kab Xok Cooperative was born from the Isla Mujeres Shark Initiative. Our mission is to transform the livelihoods of shark fishermen who have traditionally fished sharks for over three generations. Since July 2022, we have stored away our shark fishing gear, saving over 20,000 sharks. By joining our expeditions, you support a project with a cause.

Supported by Saving Our Sharks and the Shark Heroes community, we have received the necessary training, resources, and financial support to transition from shark fishing to ecotourism, allowing us to use sharks in a non-extractive way and promote their conservation.
